This Day is Bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Today I baked banana bread and watched Die Hard. Those are two of my favorite things. It was fantastic.
This week was pretty cool. Angela and I were invited to a dinner on Thursday night with the guest speaker from chapel, Dr. Gushee. I assumed that if I was invited probably everyone was invited and it would be all students, really casual, and not at all a big deal. I was wrong. We got there and we were two of about four students. Everyone else was faculty or from the district attorney's office and everyone was wearing a suit. I felt pretty awkward. Some of the men there were trying to get Angela and I involved in the young republicans. I'm really not at all about being a young republican. Dr. Gushee was great, he talked about the seventeen rules for Christian's in politics and it was really interesting. Some of the things that he said really reminded me of The Irresistible Revolution: Living as an Ordinary Radical. It was just a reminder to be careful where we place our loyalties and to make sure that we are faithful to Christ before a political party. The word "seduction" came up several times.
