Chard is Often Called "Swiss Chard" Because it is From Switzerland and the Swiss Eat it Like Candy

Intensive Training Weekend was amazing. Abandoning most of my modern day conveniences for a weekend with my team really brought me to a new understanding of the God that I serve and the place that He is sending me. Switzerland is for the most part a wealthy society, it is unlikely that we will be visiting any areas where poverty is an issue. However, this postmodern society with all of its' wealth has forgotten entirely about a personal God who loves them and desires a realtionship with them. I can imagine my life without a cell phone or a computer or even hot water, but I cannot imagine my life void of a relationship with Jesus Christ. The people of Switzerland have structured their lives in a way that they can imagine a life without Christ, but they cannot imagine a life without things. In this way, they are as poor and as broken and as desperate for the living God as anyone else.
